ELEMENTS OF STORYTELLING

On Tuesdays, August 5‐August 19, from 10:30 am‐11:30 am, join us for a three‐week practicum exploring the development of plot and characterization in writing a short story, memoir, essay, or speech. In‐class work will include not only prompts to get the creative juices flowing, but also a review of editorial practices, covering how to begin, where to start, what to include, and what to exclude. Participants are free to bring selections of any work in progress. Evelyn Wilde Mayerson, Professor Emerita at the University of Miami, Department of English, will lead the class. Evelyn is also a playwright, novelist, and author of childrenʹs books and editorial essays.
