Storytelling Project: “Entering Brookline”

Please join internationally exhibited artist and journalist Beth Jones to participate in “Entering Brookline,” a town-wide storytelling project sponsored by Brookline Commission for the Arts. Beth is inviting any and all of us with a connection to Brookline to share a story about a specific place or object in town that has a personal meaning or memory. All the stories will be linked on an internet map of Brookline, to create a web of individual narratives about our town’s unique places and why we appreciate them. Locations might include: a park, building, school, former home, or even our Senior Center!

Here’s how it works: Beth will meet with all interested storytellers at the Senior Center. You’ll get an opportunity to tell a story about the location you’ve chosen that connects you personally to Brookline. Beth will video record you sharing your story (using a phone camera, or, if you prefer, she will record audio only, or help you provide a story in writing).

Your story (ideally 3-5 minutes long) will be added to the digital map. Everyone is invited to participate, whether a current resident in Brookline or not. The process is quick, simple, and fun.
