VOLUNTEERING: “One Person CAN Make A Difference”

Current Volunteer Opportunities at the Brookline Senior Center

Senior Center Mailing Group Volunteers

The Brookline Senior Center is seeking volunteers to assist our existing team of volunteers with processing our bulk mailings.  Tasks may include copying and collating materials to include in the mailings, stuffing envelopes and labeling/posting items for mailing.  Supervision and training will be provided as needed.  Time commitment varies, but we typically do a few mailings each month and mailings generally take between 2-4 hours for the volunteer team to complete. Interested volunteers will be added to a call list and will be contacted regarding availability before each mailing. Volunteers are not required to assist with every mailing.

I&R/Reception Desk Volunteers

The Brookline Senior Center is seeking volunteers to staff our Information & Referral (I&R) and Reception desks.  Tasks include greeting visitors, answering telephones, assisting with/triaging visitors’ requests as appropriate, and light clerical work. Volunteers must possess basic computer skills and strong customer service skills. Supervision and training will be provided as needed. Available days and times vary, but general time commitment is a 2-4 hour shift.

Brookline Senior Center Ambassadors

The Brookline Senior Center is seeking volunteers for our new Senior Center ambassador position.  Tasks will include greeting visitors, offering tours of the Senior Center, and providing social engagement and support to Senior Center participants. Volunteers must possess strong customer service skills. Supervision and training will be provided as needed. Available days and times vary, but general time commitment is a 2-4 hour shift.

Technology Volunteers

The Brookline Senior Center is seeking technology volunteers to assist with the set up and operation of our computer equipment for our hybrid Zoom program offerings.  Volunteers will work closely with the Senior Center Program Manager and identified program leaders to identify technology needs and to troubleshoot any issues that arise during the program. Training will be provided as needed. Available days and times vary, but general time commitment would be up to two hours per program.
