Autumn, with the Harvest Moon, falling leaves, and colorful sunsets is the perfect time to learn about and write haiku like the one above. Haiku is a short nature poem of the present moment; of direct, immediate experience. On Wednesday, October 22 from 1:00-2:00 pm, we will read many haiku, both famous and not so famous, with special attention to the autumn season. Then we will try our hands at writing haiku using easy and creative prompts. All are invited to this supportive and fun workshop. Each person will receive a copy of the instructor’s most recent book, “in full bloom” which is about the craft of writing haiku. Instructor Jeannie Martin, Ed.D., is a haiku poet, teacher, and retreat leader.
