Opening Minds Through Art

On Monday, May 5 from 10:30 am-12 pm, join us at the Senior Center as our friends from
Goddard House Assisted Living present an Opening Minds Through Art workshop hosted by their Community Art Therapist, Meredith Griffiths. Join the Goddard House outreach team for a morning of creative exploration and open your mind through art! Participants will create their own unique, multi-layered, piece of abstract artwork using a variety of arts mediums and techniques from the award winning Opening Minds through Art (OMA) program which was founded by Dr. Elizabeth Lokon, and has been proudly practiced at Goddard House since 2016. OMA’s step-by-step, “hands-off” approach empowers individuals to engage in artistic expression, regardless of abilities or art skills. Participants will learn and experience the benefits of art-making on overall wellbeing while having fun and connecting with others over the images that are created.
