TODAY FEBRUARY 6, 2025 – Due to the weather forecast we are advising participants to use caution if going out. The Senior Center is open, but there is no lunch program or van service. Council on Aging staff will be available to answer questions and concerns. 

Monday February 17: Presidents Day: The Brookline Senior Center is closed. There is no transportation to the Senior Center or medical transportation when the center is closed. Additionally, there are no food services available on that day.

IPHONE and IPAD Basics Course (full – waitlist)

Is the iPhone (or iPad) new to you? Are you comfortable with the basic skills? Are you constantly asking your kids or grandkids for help? Hereʹs your opportunity to learn or review the basic capabilities and apps on your own iPhone or iPad. Instructor Allen Waxman will be offering an 8‐session course on Wednesdays, October 2 through November 20 from 11am‐12 noon. We will be using a book on iPhone skills specifically for seniors (large print, stepwise instructions with illustrations) which the Center can order for registered attendees (approximate cost $17). We will aim to cover the following topics: iOS & Apple ID, Connecting over WiFi/ Bluetooth/Cellular Networks, Settings & Control Center, Phone Calls & Voicemail, Contacts & Favorites, FaceTime Video Calls, Text Messages, Email, Websites & Searching the Internet, Maps & Navigation, Taking/Sending/ Saving Photos, Medical ID & Safety Online. Attendees should bring their iPhones or iPads (charged, any model) with them to class as these will be hands-on sessions.
