Easy Travel – Alaska

On Thursday, November 2 at 1:00 pm at the Senior Center, join our Brookline Bees facilitator Joyce Graff as she shares photos from her recent cruise to Alaska and a conference in Anchorage with insights into the melting in the arctic. Joyce traveled by ship from Vancouver to Alaska to attend a conference on the climate changes there and their impact on U.S. national security and geopolitical relations among the eight Arctic nations. She will share stories and photos from the voyage north, a visit to a sled dog musher
training camp, the beauty of our ʺtemperate rain forest,ʺ the challenges of living ʺoff the gridʺ (no electricity, no running water), and some insights learned at the conference. Come and hear the beauty, persevering spirit, and startling challenges and opportunities of Alaska.
